No. 5 Tech jumps Into Second At El Macero

Red Raiders slide up three spots to second
EL MACERO, Calif. – The No. 5 Texas Tech men's golf team shot a 1-under 287 in the second round of the El Macero Classic, at El Macero Country Club, in El Macero, Calif.
The Red Raiders (+14) jumped from fifth to second after a solid second day in California.
Ivan Ramirez is the low man for the Red Raiders after firing a 2-under 70, a round that included four birdies. He now sits at even par for the tournament and in third place, individually.
Kyle Hogan also shot a 70, a round which featured two birdies, plus an eagle on the par-5 15th hole. He is now tied for sixth individually, at +3 for the tournament.
Adam Blomme carded an even-par 72, logging three birdies and three bogeys on Saturday. Blomme is now tied for 16th overall, at +5. Hurly Long (+6) is tied for 24th after a 3-over 75, and Sandy Scott (+8) is tied for 33rd after registering a 75 as well.
Thomas Allkins, playing as an individual, started his day with an eagle on No. 2, but eventually bogeyed the final four holes of the day, finishing with a 79. He is now +8 on the weekend, tied for 32nd place.
Sunday's final round is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT, and live scoring will be available via Golfstat.
