April 14, 2018 | Women's Volleyball
Red Raiders have yet to lose a set in eight spring matches.
SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team continued its strong performance this spring with four straight-set victories on Saturday at the Angelo State spring tournament.
Â
The Red Raiders opened the day with a 25-3, 25-13 win over Angelo State alumnae, and then picked up a 25-9, 25-11 win over Cisco College before taking a 25-18, 25-18 victory over Ranger College. Tech rounded out the day with a 25-21, 25-16 win over sister-school Angelo State.
Â
"The team put up a strong effort today," head coach Tony Graystone said. "We were dealing with some injuries and sickness, but they rallied together and did a nice job. It was great to see Maggie Sagers make her first appearance in a long time and get her back on the court as well as some of the younger players who got a chance to step up today."
Â
Saturday marked the second of three spring events for the Red Raiders. Tech began the spring with the Texas Tech Spring Tournament in Lubbock, where it earned four straight-set victories. The Red Raiders are now 8-0 in its spring season and have yet to drop a set.
Â
The Red Raiders will wrap up its spring tour with a visit to Plano, Texas, where it will take on Tulsa and Baylor on Saturday, April 21, from Madfrog Volleyball Gym, starting at 1 p.m.
