The Players' Journal: Postseason
May 10, 2018 | Softball
Written by sophomore Kassidy Scott.
Well, here we go. The Big 12 tournament is approaching fast. As we load up the buses and triple check our bags, we have only one thing in mind: WINNING.
Â
This tournament sets us up for the thing we have been working for this whole season, postseason. Postseason would jump-starts this program into such amazing things; however, we have to take care of business this weekend. With postseason in the back of our minds, we have to focus on one task at a time.
Â
Our theme this year is about believing, without seeing. Joshua was sent out to take over Jericho. He and the Israelites marched around the wall 7 times. The seventh time they marched around the wall, they blew their horns, let out a yell and the walls then came down. Jericho was theirs.
Â
This theme has been so prevalent this year. After losing for a long time at one point in the season, it almost felt as if it were impossible to win. Each one of these 19 girls have fought so hard and never gave up. After getting that win against Iowa State, everything has looked up. We then got 7 wins in a row, and nothing can beat that feeling.
Â
So, as we get ready for a day of practice in OKC, the only thing we are thinking about is taking one game at a time and trusting the plan. Hope to see you all out there!
