Red Raider Softball Announces 2018 Fall Slate

Texas Tech makes 11 appearances, highlighted by a trip to Houston.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball head coach Adrian Gregory announced the team's 2018 fall schedule Monday. The Red Raiders will make 11 total appearances, seven at home, and play two Division I foes.

Entering year five under Gregory, the Red Raiders will host three home dates before traveling to the University of Houston for a two-day round-robin tournament. Tech then wraps up back in Lubbock with the Red & Black Series.

The fall lineup gets started with a pair of 10-inning matchups. Tech welcomes Odessa College on Tuesday, Sept. 18, then takes on Midland College Thursday, Sept. 20. First pitch of both games is slated for 5 p.m.
One week later, Tech hosts Howard College for a midweek doubleheader, starting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26.

With nine players hailing from the Houston area, the Red Raiders will travel to the Gulf Coast Oct. 6-7 for a round robin tournament at Houston. Tech opens Saturday with Lamar at 12:30 p.m., and the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, Tech battles Lamar at 9 a.m., before closing the event with Houston at 11:30 a.m.

All home games will be played at Rocky Johnson Field, are open to the public and feature free admission.

Texas Tech is coming off its first 30-win season under Gregory and return eight starters, including All-American Jessica Hartwell and its top pitcher in Erin Edmoundson. Eleven newcomers, including three transfers and eight high school signees, will receive their first action in the red and black during the fall.
