The Red Raiders continue road trip with third-straight top-25 opponent
DALLAS, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team will aim to bounce back from a pair of losses via a matchup with Texas A&M at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas on Friday.
The Red Raiders will be in pursuit of their first win over a top-20 foe after falling to both No. 22 Florida State and No. 20 Tennessee a week ago.
"We've hit a tough stretch here against a few really good teams," head coach Brett Masi said. "This is a battle that we've had a couple years in a row and I enjoy renewing the rivalry with Texas A&M. It's always nice to get in the DFW area and put ourselves in front of our incredible alumni and fan base in this region. Recently we've fallen behind early in first sets and you simply can't do that against tough competition like we've seen recently. I expect our guys to come out and be ready to go early. "
Tech will look toward the veteran leadership of Jackson Cobb and Tommy Mylnikov who, together in doubles play, lead the team with a 3-0 mark in 2019. The #17 ranked tandem of Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn are 2-1 on the year, including a doubles-clinching 6-4 victory over their opponents from Tennessee.
In singles play, Tech has produced a balanced attack, as courts one and six are a combined 6-1 during the spring. Freshman Franco Ribero has provided a spark for the Red Raiders on the tail end as he is 2-0 on the year, with each win coming from the last court position.

Tech will next return to action on February 8th against No. 3 Mississippi State within the friendly confines of the McLeod Tennis Center, where the Red Raiders are 2-0 on the year. First serve is slated for 4 p.m. CT.
