Fireside Chat Live Set For Monday at the SUB Courtyard

LUBBOCK, Texas – Chris Beard will host his first Fire Side Chat Live of the season at 11:30 a.m. on Monday in the Student Union Building Courtyard.
Beard will be joined by special guests who will make an appearance at the on-campus edition ahead of the start of the 2019-20 season. Beard's Fireside Chats have become a fan favorite over the past year on social media and have attracted national attention, including being featured on ESPN and CBS broadcasts. Texas Tech athletics will be distributing schedule posters and free pizza to students while supplies last. Â Â
The Fireside Chat Live is presented by Texas Tech University Student Union & Activities and in partnership with the TTU Student Government Association, Student Activities Board and The Raider Riot. The SUB Courtyard is located on the first floor between the Allen Theater and Red Raider Lounge.
The Red Raiders will open their season with a two-game home stand on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Eastern Illinois and Saturday, Nov. 9 against Bethune-Cookman at the United Supermarkets Arena. Tech is 50-5 in home game under Beard, including going 17-1 for the second straight season in Lubbock last year. The program is coming off a trip to the NCAA National Championship Final and winning its first Big 12 regular-season championship.
