October 28, 2019 | Men's Tennis
WACO, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team's run at the ITA Texas Regionals in Waco concluded with a three-set loss in the singles semifinal round on Monday morning.
Â
True freshman Reed Collier, in just the third tournament of his young career, fell to fourth-seeded Vacherot of Texas A&M on Monday and was eliminated from singles contention.
Â
Collier started off the semifinals with a bang, taking the first set 6-4 before ultimately falling in the following two sets, 3-6 and 2-6. Monday's loss ended an impressive showing for Collier, who picked up five wins over the top competitors in the state of Texas en route to his semifinal berth.
Â
Collier was one of three Tech players to advance to the semifinals in Waco, as seniors Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn competed in yesterday's doubles semifinals.
Â
The Red Raiders will return to action this weekend at the SMU Invite in Dallas. Play is scheduled to start on Friday, November 1st.
