The Red Raiders are at No. 24 in this week's poll coming into a 6 p.m. game against Southern Mississippi tonight at the United Supermarkets Arena. Tech (6-3) fell out of the Associated Press Top 25 after being ranked No. 12 following a pair of losses to Iowa and Creighton at the Las Vegas Invitational. The team was at No. 13 in the preseason poll following last year's run to the NCAA National Championship Final and the 2019 Big 12 regular-season championship.
Louisville dropped to No. 3 in the poll following its loss to the Red Raiders, while Kansas is up to No. 1 followed by Gonzaga, UofL, Duke and Ohio State to round out the top-5. Baylor is No. 10 this week and West Virginia is No. 25 to give the Big 12 four teams in the national rankings. Ohio State tops the NET Rankings that were announced on Monday.

Texas Tech will return to action after tonight's game against the Golden Eagles (3-8) by hosting UTRGV at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the USA. The Red Raiders are on a 51-game non-conference home winning streak coming into the week and are 54-5 at home under head coach Chris Beard. Tech is currently 1-0 against teams in the current top-25 but has five of them on the upcoming schedule.
