Red Raiders Tied for First After Day One of Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite

Texas Tech women’s golf finishes at 10-over par through 27 holes of play
GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Texas Tech women's golf team finished the first day of play at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite at 10-over after posting a cumulative team score of 292.
Tech will begin Sunday's second round in a tie with Mercer, after the Bears concluded their day at 10-over on their home course.
The Red Raiders were led by sophomore Sofia Garcia, who continued to shine by carding a 2-under 106. Garcia finished her first nine at 1-under before firing off 17 pars and a birdie in the final 18 holes. She is currently the tournament leader and is two shots clear of the second place golfer.
Anna Dong finished her day with a 3-over 111, leaving her in a tie for 14th overall. Louisa Brunt concluded play with a 4-over 112 and will begin Sunday in a tie for 19th. Amy Taylor rounded out the scorecard for Tech by posting a 5-over 113, placing her in a tie for 24th.
Cecilie Nelson finished on Saturday with at 10-over, while senior Mami Yamamoto, who is Tech's individual representative, notched a 5-over 113 and is tied for 24th.
Tech will return to action on Sunday morning with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start. The final day will conclude with 27 holes of play. Live coverage will be provided throughout the day at www.Golfstat.com.
