Lady Raiders Host Annual Play4Kay Pink Game

LUBBOCK, Texas – Lady Raider Basketball is set to host its annual Play4Kay Pink Game on Saturday at the United Supermarkets Arena. Texas Tech plays host to Oklahoma State for a 6:30 p.m. tip on FOX Sports Southwest.

Since the inception of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in 2007, the Lady Raiders have hosted an annual Play4Kay Pink Game. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund has awarded $7.53 million to support scientific research and projects that serve the underserved in ALL cancers affecting women.

Olympic gold medal-winning and Naismith Hall of Fame coach, Kay Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and passed away on January 24, 2009. Coach Yow did not lose her battle to cancer; she simply turned the battle over to all of us.

Texas Tech Men's & Women's Basketball has committed to the Play4Kay National Free Throw Challenge. Fans have the opportunity to pledge per free throw made by their team during the month of February by using this link: https://pledgeit.org/texastech-play4kay

Head Coach Marlene Stollings was one of 25 coaches in the country selected to wear customized Play4Kay Pink shoes during the game. Lady Raider Basketball is auctioning them off and all proceeds will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Visit https://texastech.com/auctions/ to place your bid.

PROMOTION
The first 1,000 fans in the arena will receive a pink t-shirt and pink pom poms. Fans who wear pink to the game can purchase tickets at the door for $5.

Fans are reminded to go clear at all Lady Raider Basketball games. The new clear bag policy provides a safer atmosphere and speeds up the entry process into the United Supermarkets Arena. For more information, CLICK HERE.

PARKING
With the start of construction on the Womble Center, a portion of the West parking lot will be blocked off for the remainder of the season. Fans who normally park in the lots closest to the arena will now be asked to park in the West Lot just beyond the construction site.

FAN FRIENDLY CONCESSIONS
Beginning Jan. 5 at the United Supermarkets Arena, fans attending all Texas Tech Athletics home events will be able to take advantage of fan friendly pricing at the concession stands. A total of six items will be available for $3 or less.

Fans will be able to purchase a hot dog (previously $5), Nacho Grande (previously $8.50) and 46oz popcorn (previously $5) for $2 each. In addition, 20oz bottled water (previously $4), 16oz soft drinks, and candy (previously $4) can be purchased for $3 per item.

In addition, all guests of the legal drinking age attending Red Raider and Lady Raider games in United Supermarkets Arena will be offered the opportunity to purchase a variety of beer and wine. Points of sales will be offered at all main concession stands as well as portable stations throughout the concourse. Fans will still be able to enjoy Club Red located on the east concourse of United Supermarkets Arena. Furthermore, beer and wine will now be available for purchase at Rip Griffin Park and Jones AT&T Stadium.
