Ranked in the Top 10? Second in the nation with a 24-1 overall record?? Leading the Big 12 in multiple categories??? This is all so surreal. The atmosphere that this team brings every day makes it so easy to invest everything that you have because you know they will do the same for you. Being in a room with such big believers on "everything happens for a reason", you know that you won't go through anything alone. This plays such a huge role on and off the field. You can give everything you have, and maybe it doesn't go your way, but you know your teammates are behind you to always pick you up.
Being ranked in the Top 10 for the first time in program history is such an indescribable feeling. With all the sacrifices we have made, and the adversity we've had to overcome, this room is SO strong. The mindset that we made, individually and as a team, is that we will win the day, be our best selves and compete in every opportunity we get - whether that is in practice, in the classroom or against our opponents.
In Memphis this weekend, our last weekend of playing pre-season and a week before my first conference series, I wouldn't want to be playing with any other team. This is the right group and I know this is exactly where I and this team are meant to be. We are in such a good and confident spot and we fully believe we will be ruthless in our pursuit. This team is special and there is still plenty of room for you to get on the bus with us!!!
