LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team is set to participate in three separate events this spring, announced by head coach Tony Graystone on Thursday.
Â
The Red Raiders begin their spring schedule with the third annual Texas Tech Spring Tournament on March 30 at United Supermarkets Arena. A total of nine teams – highlighted by UTPB, Seward, Angelo State and West Texas A&M – will participate in the tournament.
Â
Tech kicks off its first tournament of the spring in a 9 a.m. contest against UTPB before taking on Seward at 11 a.m. The Red Raiders will return to face the Angelo State Rams at 12:30 p.m. and are set to wrap up the tournament against West Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m.
Â
Two weeks later, the Red Raiders will travel to the campus of West Texas A&M on April 13 in Canyon, Texas, for set matches against Clarendon (9 a.m.) and Otero (11 a.m.). Seeding for bracket play will follow the conclusion of the morning's matches. Host West Texas A&M, Frank Phillips, Wayland Baptist and select West Texas A&M alumni will be in attendance.
Â
The Red Raiders are set to wrap up spring action on April 20 with a pair of matches in Dallas, Texas, against Big 12 foe Oklahoma and Tulsa. Tech will square off against the Sooners at 2 p.m. and will return one hour later to face the Golden Hurricanes.
Tech posted its second consecutive winning season and finished the year with the most regular-season wince since 2001 with 17.
