No. 29 Red Raiders Open Big 12 Play in Austin

Men's tennis to play pair of ranked road matches this weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team will open up Big 12 conference play in Austin, Texas with a match against No. 4 Texas on Friday, March 29th.
Tech will also travel to Fort Worth on Sunday to take on the No. 9 ranked TCU Horned Frogs in their final road match of the regular season.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Red Raiders went 2-1 last weekend at the 61st Ralph O'Connor Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas.
Their first win of the weekend came in dominating fashion, as Tech swept the Aggies of Utah State, 4-0. The Red Raiders would then go on to defeat Rice by a count of 4-1, marking their second victory over the Owls this spring.
RED RAIDERS IN THE RANKINGS:
The Red Raiders remained at No. 29 in this week's Oracle/ITA team rankings. Tech will head into conference play as one of six Big 12 teams ranked in the top-30.
QUICK HITS:
The Red Raiders are aiming to begin conference play with a road win for the first time since the spring of 2016, where they defeated then No. 38 Baylor, 4-3, to open up the Big 12 schedule.
Tech will be riding the hot hand of junior Parker Wynn in singles play, as he is currently on an eight-game winning streak. Wynn is 17-8 overall and 9-1 in his last 10 singles matches.
Freshman Franco Ribero will also seek to provide a spark in his first conference action of his young career, riding a five-game win streak of his own and boasting a 14-2 record in individual play, mostly coming at the anchor position.

UP NEXT:
The Red Raiders will return home to conclude the regular season with three matches at the McLeod Tennis Center. The first match against Oklahoma State is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, April 5th.
