Volleyball Starts Strong at Texas Tech Spring Tournament

The Red Raiders earned wins over UTPB, Seward and West Texas A&M.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team kicked off its spring schedule with a 3-0-1 outing at the third annual Texas Tech Spring Tournament, Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena.

The Red Raiders opened up their event with a 25-14, 25-19 win over UTPB in head coach Tony Graystone's fourth spring with the scarlet and black. Tech continued its winning ways and posted a 25-20, 25-23 victory over Seward to close out the morning session.

Tech split with Angelo State 23-25, 25-13 after the intermission and the Red Raiders concluded the tournament with a 25-18, 25-12 win over West Texas A&M.

November signees Audrey Tuttle and Cadi Boyer saw their first reps at the collegiate level and 11 other Red Raiders put in playing time. Alex Kirby finished the day with 83 assists while Emily Hill and Brooke Kanas led the Red Raiders with 29 and 23 kills, respectively. Boyer racked up 16 kills and a team-leading nine blocks while Emerson Solano paced the squad with 48 digs on the day.
