Women’s Tennis Run Ends at Big 12 Championship

Lady Raiders fall to No. 7 Texas in semifinals
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The No. 26 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team's run in the Big 12 Championship was cut short as the Lady Raiders fell to No. 7 Texas, 4-0, in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Raiders fall to 17-8 on the season while the Longhorns improved to 18-3 on the season.
Texas Tech fought hard through the doubles point. Doubles duo Kennedy Bridgforth and Reagan Collins won their second match of the weekend with a 6-3 victory over Markovic and Granic on court three. Texas clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court two.
No. 18 Felicity Maltby had a one set lead over No. 29 Bianca Turati on court one after she clinched a 6-2 win and was down 2-3 in the second set before Texas clinched the match. Freshman Denise-Antonela Stoica also won her first set over Bojana Markovic before the match was clinched.

The Lady Raiders will have a week off from competition before the NCAA Selection Show airs on Monday, April 29. The show will begin at 5:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
