Red Raiders to Host Celebration

LUBBOCK, Texas – There's about to be a party in the USA.
The Texas Tech men's basketball program will celebrate its historic season on Thursday in a ceremony featuring head coach Chris Beard and the Red Raiders at the United Supermarkets Arena. The event, which is being hosted by ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla, will start at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at the Northwest and Southwest entrances.
General admission is $25 per ticket and $10 for students for the celebration with seating in the stands and concession dining on the main concourse. A general admission ticket receives a voucher for on 16 ounce soda or water, one hot dog and one nacho grande. For ticket information, call 806-742-TECH or visit TexasTech.com.Â
Texas Tech advanced to the NCAA National Championship final, won the Big 12 Conference regular-season championship and had the winningest season in program history with 31 victories this season. The Red Raiders reached the national championship game by running through the NCAA Tournament with wins over Northern Kentucky and Buffalo in the first and second rounds in Tulsa, topped Michigan in the Sweet 16 and then knocked out Gonzaga in an Elite Eight matchup in Anaheim to reach the Final Four for the first time in program history. Tech earned a 61-51 win over Michigan State in the Final Four semifinal game in Minneapolis, Minnesota before finishing as the national runner-up with an overtime loss to Virginia at U.S. Bank Stadium.
