Multis competitors finish in Arizona, distance goes at West Texas A&M.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech wrapped competition in two locations Friday, while the bulk of the squad arrived in College Station for Saturday's The Reveille.Â

The Red Raiders in Tucson finished their first combined events meet of the spring. Axel Hubert rallied for 7,490 points – the second-most in program history. He placed top-five in four of his final events, including a win in the pole vault and a second-place finish in the javelin. Hubert's vault brought him 790 points with a height of 15'-1" (4.60m).Â

Rose Njoku set a personal record in her heptathlon, going for 5,195 points. Though it was her first day that primarily set her up for her day two PR, she was assisted by 723 points that came from her 18'-3.75" (5.58m) long jump that counted as her highest-scoring event of the day. She used 701 more points from a 2:29.37 800m to crack the 5,000-point plane and surpass her previous best of 5,092.Â

Tiara Williams also found long jump to be her best event of the day. She recorded an 18'-9.25" (5.72m) to finish fifth and begin her day with 765 points. Her fifth-place long jump was her highest finish of the heptathlon. Overall, she placed 14thwith a total of 4,769 points.Â

At West Texas A&M, the Red Raiders posted three personal bests. Binta Ka ran a six-second PR in the women's 1500m at 4:51.44. Two additional PRs came in the women's 5000m, including a 27-second best of 19:07.00 by Arianna Lopez. She was edged out by Jazmyn Martinez, whose 18:55.11 was also a career best.Â
