LUBBOCK, Texas – Before the start of the 2019 season, the Texas Tech volleyball team is set to take part in two scrimmages on Aug. 18 and Aug. 24 at United Supermarkets Arena.
Â
Fans can get a look at the 2019 squad as the Red Raiders welcome the New Mexico State Aggies for a 10 a.m. match on Sunday, Aug. 18 before hosting Tech's annual Red & Black match on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. Admission at United Supermarkets Arena is free for both scrimmages.
Â
"We are looking forward to having New Mexico State come to Lubbock to scrimmage with us," head coach Tony Graystone said. "They have a great program and are always at the top of the WAC, so it's going to be a good chance to see where we're at after a week of practice. It will also be the first chance for our fans to see us play and we're definitely excited about that."
Â
Tech returns 15 experienced letterwinners, including All-Big 12 selections Emily Hill and Brooke Kanas, from the 2018 season while a group of six talented newcomers look to make an impact in their first season with the scarlet and black.
