Texas Tech Men's Tennis Announces 2021 Spring Slate

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech men's tennis head coach Daniel Whitehead released the 24th nationally ranked men's tennis program's spring schedule on Thursday, which features matchups versus seven, nationally rank programs.
After hosting in-state foe ACU (Jan 17), the Red Raider men's tennis team will compete in the 13th annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend set for January 22–23. In an unprecedented format that features a field of the nation's top twenty-eight teams, spread across 10 different facilities across the nations, the 24th ranked Red Raider men's team was selected third in the Columbus, OH region. Joining the Red Raiders in this pool are #5 Ohio State, #23 Iowa and #33 Virginia.
Tech will then settle into a non-conference slate that will see them face Gonzaga (Jan. 30) and New Mexico (Jan. 31) in Albuquerque, LSU (Feb. 4 – Dallas, TX) and #59 Tulsa (Feb 6). Additional non-conference matchups will see the Red Raiders take on #42 Denver (Mar 5 & 7), #66 East Tennessee State (Mar 6), Rice (Mar. 19) and FAU (Mar. 20). The ides of March will also bring about the beginning of Big12 Conference play for the Red Raiders.
Tech is set to return seniors, Parker Wynn, Justin Bloss & IIgiz Valiev to a deep line up that will also see contributions from juniors Isaac Arevalo and Franco Ribero, as well as sophomore Reed Collier.
