February 12, 2020 | Men's Basketball
LUBBOCK, Texas – The final edition of "Red Raider Basketball with Chris Beard" will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday live from Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q with host Geoff Haxton.
Beard and Haxton will complete their fourth year together on the show by previewing Saturday's matchup at Oklahoma State and recapping Monday's 46-point win over TCU. The Red Raiders (16-8, 7-4 Big 12) play the Cowboys (12-12, 2-9 Big 12) for the second time this season at noon on Saturday in Stillwater, Oklahoma with the game being broadcasted on CBS and the Texas Tech Sports Network. Tech earned an 85-50 win in the first matchup against OSU on Jan. 4 in the Big 12 opener which was the largest margin of victory for the Red Raiders in their Big 12 history before the 88-42 win on Monday over the Horned Frogs.
Texas Tech has three home games remaining on its schedule, including on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. against Kansas State before hosting Texas (Feb. 29) and Kansas (March 7).
The Red Raiders are coming off their most historic season in program history when they won the Big 12 regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA Final Four and NCAA National Championship Final. This year's team is 7-4 in conference play, the same record as last year's team at this point in the season. Tech, which is on a three-game winning streak, is looking to earn their spot in a third straight NCAA Tournament which would be the first in program history.
Fans attending Thursday's show will have an opportunity to receive game tickets, promotional items and interact with Beard. In his fourth season leading the program, Beard is 92-39 overall, 62-7 at home and is the reigning Associated Press National Coach of the Year along with being named the Big 12 Coach of the Year the past two seasons.Â
