KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team opens up the 2020 postseason on Thursday night when they tip off Big 12 Tournament action against Kansas at 8:30 p.m. at Municipal AuditoÂrium. The game will be aired live on Fox College Sports.

ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
After a strong finish to the regular season in which the Lady Raiders (18-11, 7-11 Big 12) bested Oklahoma in Norman for the first time in 15 years, Texas Tech wrapped up its best regular season in seven years.

Second-year Lady Raider head coach Marlene Stollings boasts a deep team. Led by All-America candidate Brittany Brewer, who ranks second in the nation in blocks and is averaging a douÂble-double, and 2020 All-Big 12 honorable mention selection Chrislyn Carr, Texas Tech has already experienced plenty of success in 2020 which the team will look to build on over the final month of the season. The Lady Raiders finished the nonconÂference schedule undefeated for the first time in eight seasons at 11-0. Additionally, Tech picked up its first overtime win in four years last month, knocking off Big 12 foe Oklahoma.

The Kansas Jayhawks (15-14, 4-14 Big 12) come into Thursday's game following a road loss to Kansas State last weekend. Kansas finished 4-14 in conference play after a strong, 11-0 start in nonconference action to open the season. Kansas has five players averaging double-figure scoring, led by Aniya Thomas with 12.6 points per game. Thomas also ranks fifth in the conference in steals per game with a 1.97 average. Junior forward Tina Stephens leads the Jayhawks in rebounding, averaging 7.2 boards per contest. Head coach Brandon Schneider is in his fifth season in Lawrence.

- Last season, the Lady Raiders completed the second-biggest turnaround of any Power Five team, doubling their previous year's win total to 14. Tech has continued its impressive turnaround, surpassing last year's win total in just 22 games, and reaching 18 wins for the first time in seven years.Â

- Texas Tech has swept two Big 12 opponents this season, winning both regular season games against TCU and Oklahoma. It marks the first time in seven seasons that the Lady Raiders have swept multiple conference rivals. Tech has also reached seven conference wins for the first time in seven years.

- After finishing seventh in the Big 12 conference standings, the Lady Raiders have earned their highest seed at the Big 12 Tournament in seven seasons.

- With the Lady Raiders' 106-point outing at Oklahoma last weekend, Texas Tech has reached 100 points three times this season and twice in Big 12 play. It marks the first time in 26 years that a Lady Raider team has hung 100 on three opponents.

- While the Lady Raiders have been stacking wins this season, Lady Raider Nation has shown up to support the team as well. After ranking 33rd last season with an average of 3,563 fans per game, Texas Tech ranks 18th this season, getting almost 1,000 more fans per home contest.

- Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball senior Brittany Brewer was named to the All-Big 12 first team and defensive team on Monday for the first time in her career, while sophomore Chrislyn Carr earned honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition.
