The Players' Journal - I Miss It All

Around this time last year, I was watching the selection show. I watched my future teammates experience a type of joy that I wanted to experience more than anything else. I should've spent this week with butterflies in my stomach, waiting for the day we could all sit in the team room and shoot confetti again. I already know that next year's selection show will be a million times more special.

Quarantine has made me feel true resentment for the first time, but it has also made me realize how much I appreciate things. I miss so many things about being at Tech that I can't even list them. Beyond what I miss, I found out that I love the way my dogs dance when they hear the sound of their leashes jingle. Little things like that help make each day a little more enjoyable.

Los Angeles County recently announced that there will be a three-month extension to our stay-at-home order. I know my parents will be sad when it's time for me to go back, but I will have the biggest smile on my face. I can't wait to experience normalcy, both socially and with my girls.

Maddie Westmoreland perfectly summed up how I feel when she said "I'd listen to Pitbull on loop for hours and promise to throw the med ball far enough if it means I can come back."
