Texas Tech will stream its 2003 classic win over Ole Miss Saturday on both Twitter and Facebook
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech fans longing to watch football again will have their chance beginning Saturday when the Red Raider Rewind series begins with the 2003 classic win at Ole Miss.
Â
Brian Jensen of the Texas Tech Sports Network will be joined Saturday on the 12 p.m. rebroadcast by quarterback B.J. Symons and defensive back Ryan Aycock, two key members of the Red Raiders' 49-45 victory over an Eli Manning-led Ole Miss team. The stream will air live on both @TexasTechFB on Twitter and the football program's official Facebook page.
Â
Symons broke the then Big 12 and Texas Tech single-game records in the win after throwing for 661 yards and six touchdowns versus the Rebels. It marked the second-consecutive week Symons, the eventual FBS single-season record holder for passing yards, had broken both records as he threw 586 yards the previous Saturday against North Carolina State.
Â
Aycock, meanwhile, provided the key interception in the final moments, picking off a Manning pass near the goal line and returning it 45 yards to seal the victory with only 49 seconds remaining. It was one of six interceptions on the season for Aycock, who remains among Texas Tech's all-time leaders in single-season and career (11) interceptions.
Â
Texas Tech will stream additional classic games in future weeks with selections announced ahead of each Saturday.
