Graystone Unveils 2020 Volleyball Schedule
August 28, 2020 | Women's Volleyball
The Red Raiders will host eight Big 12 matches at United Supermarkets Arena.
LUBBOCK, Texas – After much anticipation, Texas Tech head volleyball coach Tony Graystone revealed the Red Raiders' 2020 schedule on Friday, Aug. 28.
Â
"The 2020 schedule has been a work in progress for quite a while and I'm happy we can finally get past this time of uncertainty and make real plans for a season this fall," Graystone said. "Obviously, we're disappointed to not be playing any non-conference matches, but the priority has always been to preserve our conference schedule and so we're definitely excited and looking forward to competing with the rest of the Big 12."
Â
Programs will play a double round-robin format of 16 matches scheduled in eight double-headers with competition against the same opponent in consecutive days at the same site. The team(s) that finishes with the highest winning percentage will be crowned the Big 12 champion.
Â
The Red Raiders will kick off the season in September with two matches against West Virginia on September 24-25.
Â
Following season-opening weekend, Tech will spend the next two weeks on the road with stops at Iowa State (Oct. 2-3) and TCU (Oct. 8-9). The Red Raiders return home to Lubbock to face Baylor on Oct. 16-17 before traveling to take on the Texas Longhorns on Oct. 22-23.
Â
The Red Raiders open up the month of November with a pivotal, four-match homestand at United Supermarkets Arena against Kansas State (Nov. 6-7) and Oklahoma (Nov. 12-13).
Â
Two matches at Kansas on Nov. 19-20 will close out Tech's regular season.
