Red Raiders Set to Play in Austin

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 19-ranked Texas Tech men's golf team is set to compete at the George Hannon Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at The University of Texas Golf Club and Academy in Austin.
The Red Raiders will be represented this week by Ludvig Aberg, Kyle Hogan, Garrett Martin, Andy Lopez and Baard Skogen, while JP Roller will play the event as an individual. Tech is playing in its third spring tournament after finishing eighth at The Prestige and fourth at the Cabo Collegiate. TTU is currently at No. 19 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 20 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches' Poll.

Aberg comes into the event at No. 5 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and was named to the Haskins Award Watch List on Friday. A sophomore from Sweden, Aberg opened the spring season with his first collegiate win at The Prestige and followed it with a top-5 showing at the Cabo Collegiate in San Antonio where he stormed up the leaderboard by shooting 7-under-par in his final round. Hogan secured 13th at TPC San Antonio in the team's last tournament with the senior shooting 1-over in the 54-hole competition.
Texas Tech has three regular-season tournaments remaining after this week in Austin leading into the Big 12 Championship which is scheduled for April 26-28 at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Red Raiders will follow up with a trip to Mississippi by playing in the Old Waverly Collegiate (March 26-28) and then the Aggie Invitational on April 9-11 at the Traditions Golf Club in College Station. The final tournament leading into the postseason takes TTU to Phoenix for the Thunderbird Collegiate on April 16-17.
