Bio
SENIOR SEASON (2022-23):
• Appeared in just one event for the Red Raiders when he competed as an individual at the Big Texan (Mar. 27-28).
JUNIOR SEASON (2021-22):
• Played in six events for the Red Raiders recording a top-10 finish and two top-20 finishes
• Opened the fall season with a top-25 (24) finish at the Carmel Cup
• Used a second round 70 to finish 20th at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational
• Shot a season-best 202 (-14) at the Ameri Ari to finish sixth. Martin used rounds of 68-67-67 to close the strongest week of his season
• Closed his season with back-to-back appearances at The Prestige and Cabo Collegiate Invitational.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2020-21)
• Played in every tournament during his second season with the Red Raiders
• Earned five top-10 finishes, highlighted by taking 3rd at the George Hannon Collegiate in Austin where he shot 5-under
• Finished 4th at East Lake Cup stroke play
• Shot 6-under to help the Red Raiders win the NCAA Albuquerque Regional
• Finished 32nd overall at the NCAA Championship.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2019-20)
• Martin began his Red Raider career with an impressive freshman season where he played in seven tournaments with two top-10 showings
• He finished fourth at the Inverness Intercollegiate by carding a 74-70-70 – 214 (1-over) and was ninth at The Prestige by shooting 2-under (67-73-71 – 211) playing as an individual
• Along with stroke play events, Martin helped the Red Raiders to a Big 12 Match Play Tournament title with a 1-Up win and a draw on the final day
• He finished the season averaging rounds of 72.73 with a season-low of 67 in the first round of The Prestige in La Quinta, California.
Prior to Texas Tech:
• Was a four-time all-region and all-district selection at San Antonio Johnson HS
• Earned All-State honors as a junior and senior
• Recorded five tournament championships during his high school career and graduated Summa Cum Lade
• Advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship
• Majoring in Kinesiology at Tech. Son of Mike and Dayna Martin
• Has one sibling, Marshall Martin
• His brother, Marshall, played college golf at Sterling College and is now a graduate assistant coach at Sterling.
