Hannah Barrett joins the Texas Tech staff after two seasons at Gonzaga.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball head coach Tony Graystone announced the hiring of Hannah Barrett as the new director of volleyball operations Tuesday.
"I am very happy to welcome Hannah as our new director of volleyball operations," said Graystone. "Hannah stood out among a strong field of candidates and there is no doubt she will make a positive impact on our program. Her experiences in operations, coaching and as a technical coordinator make her a great fit and we are excited for her to get started."
Before coming to Lubbock, Barrett spent two seasons at Gonzaga as a volunteer coach and director of operations while working toward her master's degree in sport and athletic administration.
"I am excited to come to Texas Tech and be part of this amazing staff and program," said Barrett. "I want to thank Tony Graystone for the opportunity and can't wait to get to work!"
During her time in Spokane, she assisted in coaching duties, statistical data analysis, coordinated travel arrangements and helped with administrative duties.
Prior to arriving at Gonzaga, Barrett played volleyball at California State University San Bernardino where she served as a team captain her senior season. She helped the Coyotes to three California Collegiate Athletic Association conference championships, a West Regional Championship and a DII Elite Eight appearance in 2017. Barrett was heavily involved as a student athlete, serving as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President from 2017-19 after spending time as a treasurer and a student representative.
Barrett, a native of Highland, California, graduated from CSUSB with her bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a minor in mathematics in 2019. She is currently finishing up her master's degree from Gonzaga and is set to graduate in May of 2021.
