Four Lady Raiders Named to Academic All-Big 12 Team

LUBBOCK, Texas – Four members of the Texas Tech women's tennis team have been named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, the conference announced Thursday.

Nell Miller, Bojana Marinkov, Olivia Peet and Margarita Skriabina each earned the recognition. It marked the second Academic All-Big 12 honor for Miller and Peet, and the first for Marinkov and Skriabina.

Miller was one of 10 student-athletes on the women's side nominated with a 4.0 grade point average, also including: Lora Boggs (Oklahoma State), Carmen Corley (Oklahoma), Julia Deming (Kansas), Emile Hudd (Oklahoma State), Vasiliki Karvouni (Kansas), Livia Kraus (Baylor), Bunyawi Thamchaiwat (Oklahoma State), Anna Turco (Kansas State) and Alana Wolfberg (Oklahoma State).

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
