Solano Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Senior libero Emerson Solano was one of seven players named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Former Red Raider volleyball libero Emerson Solano was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team for the first time in her career.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team recognizes the top student-athletes across the nation in all four divisions for their performances on the court and in the classroom. Honorees are nominated and selected by members of CoSIDA and advance to the Academic All-America ballot that will be announced in July.
Solano represents Texas Tech in District 7 which includes universities located in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. She was one of four Big 12 student-athletes to earn first team honors, three of which represent District 7.
The senior from Amarillo graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree of administration in management and a minor in human resources development in May of 2021. Solano was recently named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team for the third time in her career after finishing the 2020-21 academic year with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
On the court, Solano etched her name in the Texas Tech record books as she finished her career fourth in program history in digs with 1,332. In her final season, despite only participating in conference play in the fall, she tallied a team-leading 263 digs, averaging 4.31 per set which ranked second in the Big 12 Conference.
