Volleyball to Host Annual Red & Black Scrimmage

Attendance is open to the public and limited to the first 150 fans.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball will host its annual Red & Black scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena practice gym. The scrimmage is open to the public on a first come, first serve basis with attendance limited to 150 fans.
The intra-squad scrimmage will serve as the final tune-up before the Red Raiders open the regular season on the road at the Tennessee Classic in Knoxville Aug. 27-28.
Tech picked up a handful transfers in the offseason including the 2020 Western Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, KJ Adams. Adams along with Mizzou transfer Kenna Sauer, New Mexico State transfer Brielle Sterns, UTEP transfer Alexandra Torres and Hill College transfer Camryn Specia join freshmen Maddie Correa and Madison Gilliland as the new faces on the squad in 2021.
The Red Raiders return all but two starters from the 2020 season including All-Big 12 Second Team earners Samantha Sanders and Caitlin Dugan. Sanders and Dugan combined for 502 of the Red Raiders 1,116 kills last season. Tech's roster is full of experience with eight seniors and 17 total upperclassmen.
Patrons who wish to attend the Red & Black scrimmage are asked to enter the arena through the northwest lower-level entrance, take the stairs down and follow the signage posted inside the arena to the practice gym.
