Chloe Wall secured a new PR on her final attempt and moved to 2nd all time in Tech history
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team will now look ahead to the Big 12 meet as the squad concluded the regular season indoor campaign hosting the Jarvis Scott Open Friday night at the Sports Performance Center.
Meanwhile in the women's pole vault, Chloe Wall found herself as the only vaulter left in the competition and made it count. Wall – who came in with a PR of 4.34m – cleared the 4.36m (14'-3.50") bar on her final attempt. Her season-best mark was 4.28m (14'-0.50") coming in. In the process, the mark moved her from 20th in the NCAA to 11th. In her final three attempts, Wall tried to clear 4.41m (14'-5.50") which would've broken the school record of 4.40m (14'-5.25").
Baylee Thompson capped off the evening with a notable PR in the shot put for a mark of 14.08m. Caleb Wilborn and Jack Scarborough finished second and third, respectively. Wilborn closed out his night attempting 2.19m which would've been a new PR.
The Red Raiders are back in action next week in the Big 12 meet hosted by Iowa State Feb. 25-26.
The evening started with the women's weight throw which saw Seasons Usual toss a season-best mark of 21.53m (70'-7.75). Previously, she had hit 21.47m (70'-5.25") twice. Usual placed first while Kayli Johnson finished second with a toss of 19.21m (63'-0.25").That's a wrap for the indoor regular season ?

In the 600yd, Michaela Lewis placed first overall with a new PR time of 1:21.08 as Madeline McElroy also set a new mark for herself in the 200m, clocking in at 24.48 for a first-place outing. Meanwhile in his 200m run, Adam Clayton smashed his PR of 21.07 last weekend, for a new mark of 20.86. Marco Vilca and Sven Cepus finished first and second, respectively, in the 800m as Cepus etched a new PR of 1:48.27.MOOOOOVE ??????
