Red Raiders stay in the top 10 poll

The Red Raiders closed out the regular season Friday and Saturday
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Texas Tech track and field team remained in the top 10 in the sixth installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released Monday afternoon.
The women's program stayed idle at No. 5, while the men's team slid down one spot to No. 8.
Tech closed out the regular season last week competing in three different locations including a two-day meet at home. At the Drake Relays Friday night, Moad Zahafi broke the school's 1500m record, clocking at 3:39.59 as he placed second. It was the Moroccan's first time running in the event.
Meanwhile, Saturday afternoon, Rosemary Chukwuma became Tech's newest 200m record hold with a time of 22.78. She now owns both the 100m (11.05) and 200m school marks.
The Red Raiders are out of action this week preparing for finals but return back to competition next weekend as Tech plays host to the 2022 Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 13-15.
