Chukwuma re-writes Tech record Friday evening

Rosemary Chukwuma has posted three sub-8 times in the 60m this year
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the third time in three weeks, Rosemary Chukwuma has re-written her own 60m school record, this time posting a 7.09-mark, Friday evening inside the Sports Performance Center.
Chukwuma went sub-8 in the 60m for the third time this year. In her first round, she posted a 7.17 to tie her No. 3 all-time mark for Tech. Then for the first time in her career, she posted her first sub-10 time, clocking in at 7.09 in the finals for the win. Her school record of 7.11 is now moved to second all-time. That time puts her in a tie for second in the NCAA. It's also the No. 7 all-time collegiate mark.
He ran to the tune of 7.74 for a new PB. The Whitesboro, Texas native went on to place 10th in the pole vault and 14th in the 1000m to cap off his day. Rogers finished just 20 points shy of the heptathlon school record. Cole Omlin was the second Red Raider competing as he finished 17th.
Texas Tech also ran a DMR for the first time this season as the team of Halena Rahmaan, Magi Harris, Emma Bock and Hannah Spears combined for an 11:52.22 time. Meanwhile, Fanny Arendt ran for the first time setting a new PB in the 400m (57.57).
The night ended with the men's weight throw as Konner Wood took third with a new PB mark of 19.28 (63-3 ¼).
The final day of the meet concludes tomorrow, beginning with the women's shot put at 10 a.m.

A handful of Red Raiders made their season debut tonight including Antoine Andrews, the 2022 U20 World Champion in the 110m hurdles. Andrews won his qualifying heat with a time of 7.91 before clocking in at 7.77 in the semis. He was a "DNS" for the finals.
