No. 6 Tech seeks perfect home slate Sunday vs. OSU

The Red Raiders are 9-0 this season at the John Walker Soccer Complex
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 6 ranked Texas Tech women's soccer team will play host to the Oklahoma State Cowgirls Sunday afternoon for senior day.
The match will serve as Texas Tech's senior as pregame the program will honor: Hannah Anderson, Elise Anderson, Olivia Draguicevich, Alex Kerr, Giselle Kozarski, Penelope Mulenga and Madison White.
Entering the match with a two-point lead over BYU atop the Big 12 Standings, the Red Raiders with a win could clinch a perfect 10-0 home regular season record for the first time in program history. The 10 home wins would be the most since the 2021 season when Tech went 10-1 at Walker.

Propelled by a 68th minute equalizer from freshman Sam Courtwright, the No. 6 Texas Tech women's soccer program earned another key Big 12 point, playing the UCF Knights to a 1-1 draw in a steamy and humid Orlando on Thursday night.
Facing a one-goal deficit for the second time all season, and battling real feels that exceeded 90 degrees for the 6 p.m. local kick, Texas Tech (12-0-4, 6-0-2 Big 12) dug deep, and used a strong run from Elise Anderson to set up the programs 40th goal of the season.
Anderson ripped a perfect service that glanced off Ashleigh Williams' head and fell right to Courtwright. As she has all year, the freshman was up to the task, ripping a low bouncer into the left-hand corner of the net.
The assists were Tech's 52nd and 53rd of the season.
Courtwright has now scored three times in her last four matches and has 16 points on the season.
The goal came at the perfect time for Tech, as the Red Raiders faced a 1-0 deficit after UCF (8-5-1, 4-3-1 Big 12) buried a corner kick in the 55th minute.
As she has all season, Madison White came up clutch, making five massive saves to preserve the Red Raiders perfect record and ensure a key point.
No save was bigger for White on the night, than an 86th minute stop on a UCF shot from point-blank distance.
For the match, Tech was outshot 14-12, as the two teams combined for 27 total fouls in the physical contest.
With the point and based on the various results around the Big 12 Conference on Thursday, Tech closes the night atop the Big 12 standings with just two matches remaining in the regular season.
The Red Raiders have 20 points, two points ahead of No. 8 BYU who sits in second after a 3-0 road win at OSU Thursday.
Entering the night in third place, BYU leapfrogged TCU, who played Houston to a 2-2 draw in Forth Worth on Thursday.

The Red Raiders enter the weekend at No. 6 overall in the country and atop the Big 12 standings, two points ahead of No. 8 BYU and three points up on No. 21 TCU.
The Red Raiders can move one giant step closer to clinching the first ever Big 12 title in program history on Sunday with a victory. Controlling its own destiny, Tech can clinch that aforementioned regular season title and the coveted No. 1 seed in the Big 12 Championships with two overall victories or a win and draw PLUS one draw/loss from both BYU and TCU. Tech can still finish anywhere from first-to-third in the Big 12 standings.

One of the best offensive teams in the country, Texas Tech enters the week in the top-10 nationally in the following categories: Assists (1; 52), Assists per Game (2; 3.25), Goal differential (4; +32), Goals (8; 40), Total points (4; 132) and points per game (10; 8.25). The Red Raiders have already set a new program record 52 assists. Tech is tied with BYU and UT for most assists in the country.
After recording her career-best sixth assist, Ashleigh Williams now has recorded 30 total points, the seventh-most in the country. Williams also has added a career-best 12 goals.
GK Madison White continues to co-lead the country in shutouts with nine. White needs just one more shutout to get her 10th shutout of the season, which would mark a career-best mark.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS:
• OSU enters the weekend with an 11-6 record. After starting Big 12 play 4-0, the Cowgirls have cooled off, losing their last four matches to TCU, Cincinnati, WVU and BYU. The first three of those losses (TCU, UC, WVU) were by just a goal.
• OSU began Big 12 play with four straight wins, starting with a 4-1 win at Iowa State on Sept. 14. After a 1-0/2-0 home sweep of KU and K-State, the Pokes closed a three game homestand with a 2-1 win over the Knights of UCF on Sept. 20.
• The Cowgirls entered the week undefeated at home before losing to BYU on Thursday, 3-0. On the flip side, OSUs just 3-5 on the road, with wins over Texas State, Arkansas State and Iowa State. OSU has outscored opponents 27-6 at home, but have outscored opponents just 9-7 on the road.
• The Cowgirls have seen 20 of their 36 goals come from three places as Logan Heausler (7G 4A), Xcaret Pineda (6G, 4A) and Hannah Chance (7G, 0A) have provided the largest chunk of the OSU offense.
• Freshman Laudan Wilson has contributed a team-best six assists to go along with three goals. Wilson has started 12 of OSUs 17 matches (appeared in just 14) and has scored all three of her goals in non-conference play. Wilson has however recorded four of her six assists against B12 opponents as three of her helpers came against ISU.
• In goal, Grace Gordon has been the primary keeper for the Cowgirls. Gordon has played and started in 16 of OSUs matches, recording a GAA of just 0.86. Gordon has 52 saves and has allowed just 13 goals all season. Gordon has five total shutouts.
