Texas Tech remains on the road Tuesday, making the 720-mile trek from UFCU Disch-Falk Field to Santa Ana Star Field with a 13-hour pit stop in Lubbock. The Red Raiders will aim to both snap a three-game losing streak started in Austin and avenge the Lobos' 2022 walk-off win on this trip.
Broadcast coverage will be provided via Mountain West Network. The broadcast can be accessed from any desktop or laptop computer, any personal cellular device.
Texas Tech Sports Network will also broadcast the game over 46 affiliates throughout the state of Texas and New Mexico as Geoff Haxton will have the call alongside analyst, Jamie Lent.

HOME VS ROAD
The Red Raiders, who are averaging 16.2 runs per game in its last five games played in Albuquerque, scoring 27, 20, 15, nine and 10 in contests dating back to 2017, hope to pull from that prior production to jump-start its slow start playing away from Rip Griffin Park in 2023. In 19 games at home this season, the Red Raiders are averaging a blistering 11.0 runs per game versus scoring 4.8 per game in road/neutral site games. Tech scored 10 runs versus Michigan at Minute Maid Park to claim its one victory away from home. From the mound, the Red Raiders ERA at home is 3.76 compared to its opponent's 10.64. On the road, Tech's pitching staff's ERA is 5.05 versus its opponents' 4.35 mark.
LEARNING TO FLY
Behind freshman pitcher Zane Petty, in his first career start, Texas Tech defeated UT Arlington 10-1 on a chilly Tuesday night, March 14, at Rip Griffin Park. Petty earned the win by tossing five scoreless innings behind a strong defensive effort to help guide the Red Raiders past the Mavericks. The Red Raiders turned two double plays while Petty was dealing, The freshman had two perfect innings and allowed four hits scattered over his three other frames. Petty allowed just one walk and struck out three. The start versus the Lobos will his first since Petty's outing versus UTA. It will be his fifth overall appearance having been used out of the bullpen in his first three career outings.Â
RED RAIDERS LAST TIME AT SANTA ANA STAR FIELD | APRIL 19, 2022
New Mexico connected for a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to hand No. 9 Texas Tech an 11-10 loss the last time the Red Raiders traveled to Santa Ana Star Field on April 19, 2022. The Lobos scored four runs in the last frame in the comeback effort and pushed the Red Raiders' losing streak to five. Tech's five-game losing streak matched its longest losing streak since five in a row in 2015 ended the next time it played. Texas Tech led by as many as six, two different times in the game. The Red Raiders jumped ahead 6-0 after the top of the third, and 9-3 after the top of the sixth. The Lobos collected 21 hits, tying a season-high (Texas, March 26) allowed by the Red Raiders' pitching staff in 2022. Texas Tech used seven different pitchers in the game, Trendan Parish suffered the loss allowing the go-ahead runs in the ninth.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE LOBOS
Texas Tech got back in the win column, defeating New Mexico 6-3 at Rip Griffin Park on March 7, after its disappointing 16-inning loss to Texas A&M late the previous Sunday night, and into Monday morning, at Minute Maid Park that left the Red Raiders with a quick turnaround 2 p.m. game two days later. The Lobos entered the March 7 contest leading the nation in runs scored per game, averaging 12.5. UNM, who was 9-2, suffered its third loss after being limited to three runs and nine hits by four Red Raider pitchers. While the Lobos scratched across single runs in the second, third and seventh innings, the Red Raiders exploded for three runs in each the second and fourth innings. Tech led 6-2 after the fourth inning and maintained its advantage throughout the remainder of the game.
