Ludvig Aberg wins Valspar; shatters all-time win mark

The senior recorded his program-record sixth individual victory on Tuesday
PALM CITY, Fla. – Senior Ludvig Aberg fired a final round 70 to close out his sixth career individual victory Tuesday afternoon at the Valspar Collegiate.
With the victory, Aberg recorded his second victory of the season and the sixth of his career. He is now the only golfer in school history to win multiple events in three season and passes Clement Sordet for the all-time individual victory mark in program history.
After recording an opening round 65 and a second round 67, Aberg finished with his third straight under-par round recording a 70. With the three rounds under par, Aberg recorded his 65th round of par or better to move into solo third place on the all-time list.
As a team, No. 3 Texas Tech finished at -21 overall, six shots behind No. 4 UNC who fired a final round 272 (-12) to finish at -27.
No. 10 Texas fired a final round score of -10 to finish third at -15, while No. 7 Florida State and Ohio State finished tied for fourth at -13.
Second-ranked Arizona State finished tied with No. 14 Texas A&M for sixth place (-9) followed by Pepperdine (-6). Wake Forest and Duke ended up tied at -5 for ninth place followed by No. 18 Georgia Southern who ended 11th.
Northwestern (+1), Houston (+2), Marquette (+17), Minnesota (+18) and Lamar (+38) round out the 16-team field.
