Tech sits second after Day Two of Big 12s

The Red Raiders are two shots behind first place OSU
DALLAS – The Texas Tech Red Raider women's golf program, caught fire late, using a strong back nine to sit in solo second following 36 holes of the Big 12 Championships hosted by Iowa State at the Dallas Athletic Club.
After carding just one front nine of par or better, Tech's received a back nine 31 from freshman Shannon Tan, a 32 from classmate Lauren Zaretsky and a 34 from Gala Dumez.
The strong performances on the last nine from Tan and Zaretsky allowed the duo to shot identical rounds of 68 (-4).
After opening with a bogey on the first hole of the day, Zaretsky cruised over the final 17 holes, recording five birdies without a set back, while Tan also fired five birdies on the back nine.
With her 68, Tan now sits at -3 overall, tied for fourth place. A trio of golfers sit at -4 overall, one shot clear of Tan and the group at -3.
No. 23 Oklahoma State caught fire in Saturday's moving day, firing a 278 (-10) to take the 36 hole lead. The Cowgirls (-4) sit two shots clear of second place Tech (-2).
No. 13 Baylor fired a team score of 281 (-7) to pull back to +1 overall. The Bears are third, followed by Oklahoma (+6), No. 20 Iowa State (+8) and TCU (+10).
Kansas (+23), No. 8 Texas (+26) and Kansas State (+36) round out the nine-team field.
Sunday's Championship Round will be live streamed on ESPN+ beginning at 8 a.m.
