The Big 12 Championships are scheduled for May 12-14 in Norman
LUBBOCK, Texas – It's the first day of May and the Texas Tech men's track and field team is ranked the No. 1 team in the country.
In the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings released Monday afternoon, the Texas Tech men leaped one spot to claim the nation's top ranking. Meanwhile, the women's team moved up nine spots to No. 13.
Tech wrapped up its regular season slate this past weekend hosting the Corky/Crofoot Shootout. Some of the highlights included Courtney Lindsey setting a new PB in the 200m at 19.94, while Omamuyovwi Erhire debuted in the triple jump. Erhire set a mark of 16.37m (53-8 ½) (2.1w) making him one of two D-I jumpers inside the top-25 in both the triple and high jump (2.15m/7-0 ½).
