INDIANAPOLIS –The No. 5 ranked Texas Tech men's golf program has earned the top-seed at the Norman Regional hosted by the University of Oklahoma and the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
The top-seeded Red Raiders will be joined by a strong field that includes host and No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 5 Wake Forest.
Play begins on May 15 and runs through Wednesday, May 17.
The top-five teams will advance to NCAA Championships hosted by Arizona State and the Grayhawk Golf Club at the end of the month in Phoenix.
The Red Raiders will look to the championship round of the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in program history. With a top-five finish Tech would advance to Grayhawk in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.
Entering as the No. 2 seed a year ago, finished tied for third at the New Haven Regional in 2022, firing a team score of -16 for the week. The Red Raiders finished eighth in the stroke play format of the NCAA Championships to advance to match play for the third time in program history.
As a whole, the 14-team field includes eight of the top-45 schools, five of the top-30 and four of the top-20 (No. 5 Tech, No. 9 OU, No. 17 Alabama and No. 20 Ole Miss).

THE FORMAT:
54 holes of stroke play; top-five scoring teams and the lowest individual from a non-advancing team advance to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament hosted by Grayhawk Golf Club, May 26-31.
COACH SPEAK (HC GREG SANDS):
"Norman was where we expected to go, but we're excited. We got to play the course on the way to Big 12s which should help us next week. It's an easy spot to get to, but we'll have our hands full. It's a really tough regional top-to-bottom. We have to focus on ourselves and getting better. That's the way you advance out of a regional. We've been working on this all year, figuring out how finish inside the top two-fifths. We talk about it all the time. It's the same thing you have to do professionally. We know what we have to do. It'll come down to execution and being ready."
