LUBBOCK, Texas – Just five days after being named to the 2024 Big 12 Softball Preseason Team and the D1Softball.com top-100 players list, Kailey Wyckoff earned more recognition on Tuesday as Softball America released its top-100 players list which saw the sophomore at No. 52 overall and No. 4 among all catchers.
Wyckoff put her name in the record books after an impressive freshman year that saw her slash .393/.452/.740 while recording nine homers, 15 doubles, 31 RBIs and 111 total bases on her way to being named the 2023 Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
"This just speaks volumes for her and her work ethic," head coach Craig Snider said. "From day one she's done nothing but impress our staff and team. She is going to continue to grow and is a great representative for Texas Tech softball."
The Red Raiders begin play on Feb. 9 when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take part in the Florida State Tournament. The softball program will also be hosting a fan's day on Feb. 4, more information to come on that event.
