Tech puts up 22 runs in win over Garden Citty

Pitching excellent agaian as Tech wins 22-1
LUBBOCK, Texas – NiJaree Canady struck out all nine batters she faced and blasted her first home run of the fall off the left foul pole as the Red Raiders overpowered Garden City Community College 22-1 on Sunday night at the Rocky Johnson.
Logan Halleman led the team with five hits including a double and scored four runs as Hailey Toney finished 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. Canady also had four hits with a double and the home run as she drove in three runs.
Lauren Allred, Mihyia Davis and Anya German all finished with three hits as Allred and German combined for seven RBI. Raegan Jennings also finished with multiple hits and a stolen base.
Makyla Garcia, Victoria Valdez, Alexa Langeliers, Katie Lott and Bailey Lindemuth all picked up hits as well. Lott walked twice and also drove in three runs.
Brenlee Gonzales and Chloe Riassetto also had stellar performances with Gonzales racking up seven strikeouts over three innings and allowing zero hits. Riassetto picked up five strikeouts and allowed just one run over four innings of work.
Tech has completed play against outside opponents and will turn its attention to their intrasquad series later in the month.
