Team Red wins final game of Red/Black Series

Davis Rivers went 4-for-5 with five RBIs while Damian Bravo added three hits and hit a grand slam
LUBBOCK, Texas – Davis Rivers went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run and five RBIs while Damian Bravo added three hits and a grand slam to power Team Red to an 11-5 win the fifth and final game of the Red/Black series.

In addition to Rivers and Bravo's big day, Team Red also got a pair of doubles from Hudson Parker and an RBI double from Outfielder Logan Hughes.

Freshman Kendyl Johnson finished 3-for-4 with a walk for Team Black, while Robin Villeneuve added a two-RBI double.

Rivers got Team Red off to a good start on Friday afternoon when he plated Bravo on a 450-foot two run blast over the batters eye in center.

Down 2-0 in the first, Team Black used a lead-off double off the first base bag by Johnson to answer the two-run blast with a singular run. Johnson scored on a sac-fly from shortstop Tracer Lopez.

In the visiting half of the second, Team Red scored four more times in the second off Connor Mohan. The big blow in the inning was a 457-foot blast by Bravo that scored Hudson Parker from third, Kyeler Thompson from second and Hughes from first.

Down 6-1, Team Black used an RBI single from Johnson and the two-run double by Villeneuve to pull to within 6-4.

After the two teams traded zeros in the third inning, Team Red added three more runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Hughes and a two-RBI double from Rivers to go on top 9-4.

The game remained 9-4 Team Red until the fifth, when an RBI double from Peyton Schulze scored Johnson.

Team Red added a run in the sixth and one in the seventh to close out a seven inning 11-5 win in the final game of the Red/Black series.
Despite falling in Game Five, Team Black did win the Red/Black series, three games to two.
