Myles Cole ranked in the top 10 of all three on-field measurements Thursday at the NFL Combine
LUBBOCK, Texas – Myles Cole already entered the NFL Scouting Combine with an intriguing profile due to his sheer size. He only increased the buzz around his draft status Thursday after an impressive showing in front of many of the top NFL executives and coaches across the league.
Cole was among the most-discussed rush ends on the opening day of the NFL Combine as he measured 6-6 and 278 pounds to go along with a wingspan that was an astounding 86 1/4 inches. His arm length made the most waves at 36 7/8 inches and a hand size of 9 7/8 inches, both of which were easily the largest among the defensive end group.
Cole ranked near the top of his position group in the on-the-field tests, leaping 35-0 in the vertical and then 10-0 in the broad jump. He rounded out the on-field drills with a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash, making him one of four defensive ends to rank in the top 10 in all three categories alongside Jalyx Hunt of Houston Christian, Cedric Johnson of Ole Miss and Jared Verse of Florida State.
Cole's 40 time drew satirical comparisons to Texas Tech's top NFL alum currently in Patrick Mahomes II, who was clocked at 4.80 during his own NFL Combine appearance in 2017.
They timed you on a bad day, @PatrickMahomes ??

Cole wrapped his two-year Red Raider career with 32 tackles over 12 games this past season, which including 6.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks. It was the most-productive collegiate season for Cole, who further developed at Texas Tech after spending his first four years at Louisiana-Monroe. He recorded 86 tackles for his career with 12.0 going for a loss and 5.0 sacks.
Cole is the first Red Raider to compete in on-the-field drills as Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Tyler Owens are scheduled for Sunday, while Austin McNamara will do the same Sunday.
The NFL Combine will air throughout the weekend on NFL Network from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
