Lasmane has triple jumped in only two meets this season

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Ruta Lasmane leaped a season-best 13.97m (45-10) to win the women's triple jump, putting her atop the NCAA list as of Saturday afternoon as Texas Tech capped off the three-day DeLoss Dodds Invitational.

Lasmane entered the weekend with the No. 2 mark after her performance nearly three weeks ago at the Corky Classic where she bounded 13.71m (44-11.75). This afternoon's mark also put her No. 6 in Tech history.

Meanwhile, in the vertical jumps, Temitope Adeshina cleared 1.90m (6-3) for the win. The Nigerian would bow out of the competition attempting 1.97m (6-5.50), the 2024 Olympic standard.

On the sprints side, Terrence Jones competed in the 200m, running the event for the first time indoors since February of 2022. He breezed through the field clocking in at 20.57.

Vincent Koech made his collegiate debut in the mile, winning the event with a time of 4:06.34. In that same race, Ernest Cheruyiot made his Red Raider debut taking third overall with a time of 4:10.85.

Field Gatlin won the women's shot put competition with a toss of 15.90m (52-2) as McKenzie Davis placed third at 15.75m (51-8), a new personal best.

In the men's high jump, Omamuyovwi Erhire won the competition with a SB 2.20m (7-3).

Notables

Three Red Raiders placed in the top-10 of the women's 800m, paced by Kayla Jones (2:06.88, PB) in third place, Emma Bock (2:12.21, PB) in seventh and Fanny Arendt (2:21.97) in 10^th.
Liam Walsh won his 800m race at the line with a new PB time of 1:49.90.
Lily Mather etched a 10-second PB winning the mile race at 4:48.66.
Garison Breeding claimed second in the triple jump at 15.55m (51-0.25).
Isaac. Hernandez (8:27.86) and Jenna Carter (10:15.63) each secured PB times in the 3000m.
The men's A 4x400 team clocked in a SB 3:05.00 to take second place.
