Lasmane shines in the triple jump Saturday afternoon

Lasmane has triple jumped in only two meets this season
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Ruta Lasmane leaped a season-best 13.97m (45-10) to win the women's triple jump, putting her atop the NCAA list as of Saturday afternoon as Texas Tech capped off the three-day DeLoss Dodds Invitational.

Lasmane entered the weekend with the No. 2 mark after her performance nearly three weeks ago at the Corky Classic where she bounded 13.71m (44-11.75). This afternoon's mark also put her No. 6 in Tech history.

Meanwhile, in the vertical jumps, Temitope Adeshina cleared 1.90m (6-3) for the win. The Nigerian would bow out of the competition attempting 1.97m (6-5.50), the 2024 Olympic standard.

Field Gatlin won the women's shot put competition with a toss of 15.90m (52-2) as McKenzie Davis placed third at 15.75m (51-8), a new personal best.

- Three Red Raiders placed in the top-10 of the women's 800m, paced by Kayla Jones (2:06.88, PB) in third place, Emma Bock (2:12.21, PB) in seventh and Fanny Arendt (2:21.97) in 10th.
