McGuire discusses first spring scrimmage

Texas Tech conducted its first of three team scrimmages this spring Friday afternoon
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire met with the media Friday to discuss the Red Raiders' first scrimmage of the spring, which took place earlier in the day on the practice fields outside the Sports Performance Center.

The roughly 110-minute scrimmage, which was closed to the media and the public, began with a strong start from the defense, which limited the Red Raider offense's opportunities early. The offense rebounded, however, with touchdowns late to Josh Kelly as well as two to Brady Boyd and one to freshman Trey Jackson during a red zone period.
