Chukwuma advances to her third-straight NCAA 100m final

The Tech women competed in four events Thursday evening
EUGENE, Ore. – The Texas Tech track and field women wrapped up their first day of competition at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships Thursday evening at Hayward Field.
The Tech women competed in four running events – 4x100, 1500m 100m hurdles and 100m.
Meet Coverage
The 4x100 team of Serena Clark, Success Umukoro, Alyssa Colbert and Rosemary Chukwuma clocked in at 42.95 to secure the automatic qualifier placing second in the heat. Tech was sitting in third place on the final exchange but the closing anchor speed of Chukwuma gave the Red Raiders second place.
In the 100m, Chukwuma snagged the first of three next best times as she ran a 11.16 (0.7w) – her third-straight 100m NCAA final.
When it came to the 1500m, Juliet Cherubet capped off her season in the event placing 12th overall with a time of 4:09.98, missing the final spot by 0.07 seconds. She will compete in the 5k final Saturday evening.
Colbert missed the final qualifying to LSU's Thelma Davies despite having the same time of 11.18 (.174) as Colbert's time came down to .175.
