Texas Tech announces spring practice dates

Red Raiders will kick off spring practices March 10 leading up to the annual Spring Game on April 19
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech announced Friday it will kick off its fourth set of spring practices under head coach Joey McGuire on March 10 leading up to the annual Spring Game on April 19 at Jones AT&T Stadium. Â
Game time and other fan information pertaining to the Spring Game will be announced at a later date.
Texas Tech will follow a normal Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday practice routine for all but the first week of spring practices. The Red Raiders will utilize a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule that first week prior to the start of Spring Break on the Texas Tech campus.
All practices other than the Spring Game are closed to the general public outside members of the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA). High school coaches should contact Texas Tech Director of Player Development Dave Martin each week for practice access. Texas Tech will host its annual Coaches Clinic on April 4-5 around its ninth practice of the spring.
The Spring Game will round out Texas Tech's 15 allotted practices in what will be a competitive spring under McGuire, who will look to mix 42 returning letterwinners with a talented class of 27 newcomers. A full report of Texas Tech's spring roster can be found here.
