Lasmane named Big 12 Athlete of the Week

Lasmane is the defending NCAA indoor triple jump champion

IRVING, Texas – Senior triple jumper Ruta Lasmane was named the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon. It's the first career weekly indoor honor for Lasmane.

The defending NCAA indoor triple jump champion opened her season in stellar fashion last Friday. Each jump was at least 13.76 meters (45-1) and she ended with a final jump of 14.00m (45-11 ¼) for the No. 1 spot in the country and fourth in the world.
