The Red Raiders will host Odessa College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball will host Odessa College in a 10-inning fall ball game on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. Fans are invited to come out and watch the team on Sunday and then again on Tuesday as they play their last intrasquad scrimmage of the fall.
The Red Raiders scored 29 runs against West Texas last weekend when they went to Canyon. Tech's offense looks to keep putting up those numbers thanks to a powerful lineup that totaled 150 home runs last season at their respective schools. Six Red Raiders homered in the exhibition against the Lady Buffs as Tech had 14 total extra-base hits. 10 of the 12 Red Raiders to bat recorded multiple hits, and all 12 batters recorded a hit.Â
Transfers Kaitlyn Terry and Taylor Pannell were stellar in their debut against a team in a different colored jersey. Terry pitched 3.0 innings allowing just one hit and striking out six batters, two each inning she pitched. Pannell went a perfect 5-for-5 and reached on an error as she totaled 10 bases thanks to a pair of doubles and a home run and added two RBI.
Along with Pannell, Lauren Allred, Jackie Lis, Desirae Spearman, Lagi Quiroga and Hailey Toney all left the yard, including a grand slam off the bat of Allred.
Tech's final intrasquad scrimmage will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with batting practice beginning around 6 p.m.
