LUBBOCK – Basketball games this season for No. 10 Texas Tech will be featured on ESPN, TNT, Peacock, Fox, ESPN2, CBS Sports Network, FS1 and ESPN+. Game times are set for 7, 7, 7:30, 7, 7:30, TBD, 12, 2, 2, 11 (a.m.), 7, 7, 1, 12, 8, 6, 8, 7, 8, 5:30, 11 (a.m.), 8, 12, 7, 5, 10, 1:30, 6, 3, 6 and 9:30. The Big 12 tip times and television designations were revealed Tuesday throughout the conference, marking the first season of broadcast agreements with five national partners. The Red Raiders are set to open their season against Lindenwood at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4 at United Supermarkets Arena followed by hosting Sam Houston at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 7 with both games on ESPN+ during the first week of the season. Tech's first road game of the season at Illinois is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1. The conference schedule starts for Texas Tech against Oklahoma State on Saturday, January 3 at noon in Lubbock with the game being televised on ESPN2 before the Red Raiders travel to play No. 2 Houston at 8 p.m. on January 6 on FS1. A total of 55 Conference games are slated for broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2, with an additional 11 Conference games are available on ESPN+. FOX joins the Big 12's list of men's basketball partners, having a schedule of 31 league games on FOX or FS1. CBS has a six-game network slate for Saturday coverage, plus a 15-game schedule on CBS Sports Network. Peacock has 18 Big 12 games and TNT produces eight more in their first year as broadcast partners to the Conference. All of TNT's games will be simulcast on truTV.
The Red Raiders are coming off a trip to the 2025 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight and are 51-20 in the first two seasons under head coach Grant McCasland. Tech returns JT Toppin for his junior season after he was named a consensus all-America, Big 12 Player of the Year, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team last season as a sophomore. The team also returns Christian Anderson who earned All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors and welcomes five players from the transfer portal in Tyeree Bryan (Santa Clara), LeJuan Watts (Washington State), Josiah Moseley (Villanova), Luke Bamgboye (VCU) and Donovan Atwell (UNC Greensboro) along with freshman additions Nolan Groves, Jaylen Petty and LaTrell Hoover.
Texas Tech finished last season with a 28-9 overall record and was second in the Big 12 standings with a 15-5 conference record. The team advanced to the Elite Eight after running off NCAA Tournament wins over UNC Wilmington, Drake and Arkansas before falling to eventual national champion Florida in San Francisco. The Red Raiders finished last season at No. 8 in the final AP Top 25 poll after going into the national tournament at No. 9. The program has now been ranked in the AP Top 25 for a program record nine straight seasons with its highest ranking in program history coming at No. 6 in the 2018 season. Tech was unranked in last season's AP Top 25 Preseason Poll but finished the year ranked for seven straight weeks.
